A 40-year veteran of New York City's Fire Department and a leader of the recovery efforts after 9/11, Chief Ronald R. Spadafora is an American hero. He died in 2018 from leukemia caused by toxic exposure during his work at Ground Zero. This installation celebrates his memory and the legacy of New York's Bravest and includes artifacts like his bunker jacket and helmet from 2001 and three of his bestselling books and training manuals.
Local Hero: Chief Ronald R. Spadafora is on display in the Joel I. and Joan Picket Museum Treasures Case.
