Participants in our previous NEH Summer Institutes for School Teachers—American Women at War (2017), American Women in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars (2019), and American Women, American Citizens: 1920-1948 (2020)—created lesson plans for the topics under study as their final project. All lesson plans were designed to address the needs of the target grade level and subject matter taught by participants. Teachers drew from academic scholarship, primary sources, and pedagogical techniques developed over the course of the Institute. Explore some of their lessons below!
